Tsang Kin Wah. Work

0 GREATEST THINGS

"After graduating from the Fine Arts Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsang obtained a Master`s degree in book arts from the Camberwell College of Arts at The London Institute, under the British Chevening Postgraduate Scholarship. Tsang is known for his meticulously rendered pieces that seem like graphic drawings from afar, but is made up of carefully drawn words and phrases at closer look. His work focuses on investigating the specific meanings created by combining swear words with the elegant image and by presenting this as a form of wallpaper in different site-specific installations...."

Graphic Details, A Style Guide to Pattern and Applications
"As evocative patterns continue to adorn our surroundings and captivate our minds, the surging interest in pattern design - how they are inspired, produced and desired to function - is the product of a highly-evolved process. This book, celebrates and explores the revivial of this art form with patterns that go beyond their decorative function as they exceed our expectations with playful formations of thought-provoking depths and the creative ways they are applied. "

I like a lot !

Dan Funderburgh is a wallpaper designer and artist in Brooklyn, NY. His patterns, prints and installations are varied in content but all demonstrate an unabashed love for decorative arts. With influences ranging from Moorish mosaic to American op art, the work is a repudiation of the fabricated schism between art and decoration. Some of Dan's work can be found in the collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum and the Miami Museum of Art.
